Popular former Aiken deputy to be in-studio commentator on ‘Live PD’

Deputy Kevin Lawrence, who grew up in Aiken and started his career in Aiken County, will be in A&E’s studio Friday and Saturday nights on Live PD.

Lawrence, who now works for the Richland County (S.C.) Sheriff’s Office, will “provide expert commentary,” along with show host Dan Abrams and analyst Tom Morris Jr., about the weekend’s episodes.

Live PD is a documentary series that follows up to six law enforcement agencies across the country, including Richland County. It airs for three hours, starting at 9 both nights.

Lawrence, who went to Aiken County elementary and middle schools before graduating from Silver Bluff High School, is known for his calm demeanor. It has earned him several nicknames, including Cool Kev, Mr. Cool, Mr. Calm and Collected and – to the fans on Twitter – KLaw. Before joining the Richland County Sheriff’s Office in 2007, Lawrence was an Aiken County deputy and a sergeant on the New Ellenton police force.
