Fort Gordon is set to host a national night to promote law enforcement at the base.
The Fort Gordon Law Enforcement National Night Out will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Fort Gordon Law Enforcement Center at 675 Rice Road.
The event acts as a way “to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and “send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back,” a news release from Fort Gordon states.
All personnel on Fort Gordon are encouraged and welcomed to attend in support of Law Enforcement Services and Emergency Services at the base.
There will be fun attractions for kids of all ages such as bounce houses, “duck-a-cop” dunk tank and the inflatable slide, according to the news release.
Attendees can also tour the Law Enforcement Center and Incident Command trailer and witness several Law Enforcement demonstrations to include the military working dogs, non-lethal tasers, traffic stops, apprehensions and more, it states.
