Man still wanted for attack, victim still in hospital


An Augusta man accused of nearly beating a woman to death is still on the run Thursday.

Jerome A. Davis, 28, is wanted in connection with a Sept. 30 assault. District Attorney Natalie Paine said the victim is still hospitalized.

Davis is 6 feet tall and weighs about 190 . His last known address is 2017 Windsor Avenue and he also has ties to Wadley, Ga.

Davis has been free on bond in connection with an Oct. 30, 2016, domestic violence incident. In that case he is accused of repeatedly punching a woman in the face and body. He has pleaded not guilty in Richmond County State Court.
