Two soldiers die in accident at Fort Jackson

Two soldiers have died and six are injured after an accident at Fort Jackson on Friday afternoon.

According to information released by Fort Jackson, the soldiers were involved in an accident between a military vehicle and a troop formation.

Injured soldiers were rushed to the hospital, and the names of the soldiers who died are being withheld, pending notification of their family.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the soldiers we lost today and to the families of the injured, they represent the best of our Nation and we will endeavor to support all those affected through this difficult time” said U.S. Army Training Center and Fort Jackson Commander Maj. Gen. Pete Johnson.
