Eighth arrest brings Aiken County meth investigation to conclusion

A 14-month Aiken County narcotics investigation came to a close with the recent arrest of the eighth suspect by Lexington County sheriff’s deputies, according to a news release.

 

Caroll Richard Addy, 46, the final suspect, was charged with unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products.

The investigation, which began in January 2016, focused on methamphetamine manufacture. In April, Aiken County narcotics investigators served three search warrants in the Wagener area, charging six people:

•Christopher Ray Hutto, 29, attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste, possession of cocaine 2nd offense, possession of controlled substance-second offense, and two counts of unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products.

•Nikki Lee Price, 36,attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste, and unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products.

•Jesse Tracy Prince, 44, attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste and two counts of unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products.

•Carly Nicole Chavis, 21, possession of methamphetamine-first offense.

•Kenneth Carlisle Goodwin, 75, unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products.

•Waylon Robert Johnson Jr., 32, unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products.

On May 17, Lexington County sheriff’s deputies charged Christopher Todd Addy, 44, with four counts of unlawful purchase of ephedrine-based products in Aiken County and other offenses in Lexington County.

“These arrests are the result of hard work and dedication not only by the sheriff’s office employees but also by Wagener Police Department, Salley Police Department and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office,” said Aiken County Sheriff Michael Hunt. “We will continue to work together as a law-enforcement community to ensure the safety of our citizens.”
