More than 300 soldiers expected to return Monday

More than 300 soldiers will return home to Fort Gordon next week after a nine-month deployment.

The public is invited to join the soldiers and their families for a welcome home ceremony, tentatively set for noon Monday, in the Cyber Fitness Center, Gym 5 , Building 25713, on 26th Street at Fort Gordon.

The soldiers, who are part of the 67th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, were deployed to Camp Arifijan in Kuwait in December to provide communication support to telecommunication facilities throughout the Middle East.

“Our soldiers made immediate positive impact for the continuing success for our military operations overseas,” Capt. Chad Cooper, 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade public affairs officer, said Thursday.

“No matter how technical our operations become or how wide our global missions expand our people and their families will continue to be our most treasure resource and we are so glad to have them back and reunite them.”
