Several roads are scheduled to close along Broad Street ahead of Augusta’s Arts in the Heart Festival this weekend.

The city and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office approved the road closures for the three-day arts celebration. The closures includes 7th to 10th streets, 8th Street from Ellis to Broad streets and 9th Street and McCartan Street, next to the downtown YMCA.

The parking lot in the 600 block of Broad Street, across from the Ramada Hotel, will also close, a sheriff’s office news release states. One eastbound lane of Reynolds Street from 9th to 8th streets will close Friday morning and reopen Sunday morning following the event, according to the news release.

Streets along Broad will reopen once tents are removed and the sheriff’s office deems them safe for traffic, the news release states.
