The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has made a third arrest in the death of a man whose body was found in a brush pile in the 200 block of Avalon Lane in Beech Island.
Dimitri Carter, 32, surrendered to investigators Wednesday with his attorney and was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center on a murder charge.
The body of Allen Andrew Jones, 26, of Columbia, was found Aug. 4 by a bicyclist. Coroner Tim Carlton said Jones is presumed to have died after 10 p.m. Aug. 3 from multiple gunshot wounds.
Two suspects, Christopher Shane Blitchington, 38, of Langley, and Dylan Seth Raborn, 23, were arrested in early August. Raborn’s arrest followed a vehicle pursuit from the Ashley hotel on U.S. Highway 1 near Clearwater through Aiken, Richmond and Columbia counties.
Blitchington and Raborn were charged with accessory after the fact in the murder investigation. Raborn also was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and two counts of attempted murder on deputies.
