Man on probation for public indecency facing new charges

A Blythe man on probation for public indecency was arrested Friday and charged with public indecency and child molestation.

Zachary J. Hyman, 31, is in jail without bond on the child molestation charge, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office jail website.

Hyman is on probation for a misdemeanor count of public indecency. He pleaded guilty in Richmond County Superior Court to the charge June 1. That charge stems from an incident in the Hobby Lobby parking lot on June 9, 2016. A driver told a sheriff”s deputy that another driver was in the lot without pants and performing a lewd act.

The charge against Hyman is a felony because of prior convictions for public indecency. In Columbia County Superior Court, Hyman pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of public indecency for two incidents of flashing at the Grovetown Wal-Mart and the nearby University Health Care Grovetown Campus on June 28, 2016.
