Augusta man accused of shooting at deputies during pursuit denied bond

An Augusta man wanted for crimes in two states who is also on parole was denied bond Friday.

Dylan S. Raborn, 23, faces three counts of aggravated assault and weapons violations in connection with a police chase through three counties, during which he reportedly fired at pursuing deputies.

The chase occurred Aug. 11 when Aiken officers tried to arrest Raborn on a charge of accessory after the fact of murder.

Raborn and Christopher S. Blitchington, 38, are charged with accessory after the fact of murder in the Aug. 4 death of 26-year-old Allen Andrew Jones.

Dimitri Carter, 32, is charged with murder in Jones’ death. The victim’s body was found on a brush pile on Avalon Lane in Beech Island.

Richmond County Superior Court Judge J. David Roper denied Raborn’s bond request. Raborn, who has four previous felony convictions, is also being held on a parole violation warrant. According to court records, Raborn was paroled Dec. 6.
