A Warren County man has been arrested and charged with murder in the Aug. 12 death of Brea Amanda Mance.
According to records at the McDuffie County Jail, Shantony Lavont Tucker, 30, of McGinty Drive in Norwood, was taken into custody Tuesday evening on several outstanding warrants and a probation violation.
Authorities said he was also wanted for questioning following the death of Mance, 27, who was reportedly his girlfriend. Mance’s body was found in a burning home in the 200 block of Cobb Street in Norwood on Aug. 12.
According to Pat Morgan, Special Agent in Charge of the Region Seven office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Tucker is now charged with murder, arson and concealing the death of another in relation to Mance’s death.
The incident is under investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the state fire marshal’s office.
Funeral services for Mance will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Thomson.
