Flash flood warning expires as crews repair power outages

Power crews are working to repair power outages and a flash flood warning has expired in the Augusta area.

 

An outage that affected nearly 900 customers is down to 42 homes in the area north of Gordon Highway and Deans Bridge Road.

According to Georgia Power, 323 customers remain without power in west Augusta near Doctors Hospital. Another 250 are without power in the Lake Aumond area.

An outage affecting about 160 homes near Peach Orchard Road and Rosier Road has largely been resolved, though a few homes along Peach Orchard Road remain without power.

In Columbia County, small outages remain in Grovetown and Martinez. Outages in Thomson have been cleared.

South of Augusta, most of the more than 300 customers without power in Waynesboro have been restored, with just 23 customers still affected by two outages.

In Lincoln County, power has been restored to about 80 homes near Thurmond Lake.

In South Carolina, SCE&G reports an outage that peaked near 300 homes is down to about 20 near Barnwell, with just four homes remaining without power in Aiken County.
