Two suspects have been identified after a Walmart employee improperly cashed three checks for more than $10,000.
According to a Richmond County case report, a loss prevention employee at the Walmart at 3209 Deans Bridge Road told the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office that the incidents took place on June 19, 21 and 23.
Each time, a woman approached the employee working in the Money Center with a check. Instead of processing the check through the register, the employee would push “no sale” on the register and give the woman the money for the check.
After the checks were cashed, the woman would meet the employee inside the store for an exchange, believed to be cash from the transaction.
A Richmond County deputy identified the suspect who brought the checks to Walmart by reviewing photos on the Walmart employee’s Facebook page. There were two checks for $3,800 and one check for $3,200, for a total loss of $10,800.
