The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has made a third arrest in the 2015 slaying of Randy Justin Ramos, a call center supervisor at Teleperformance.
Jesse Daniel Jackson, 29, whose last known address was in the 2500 block of Meadowbrook Drive in Augusta, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol in Morgan County on Saturday. He faces charges of murder, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of firearm during the commission of a crime, according to the sheriff’s office.
Two other men – Marquise Terrell Yarbary, 26, and Tarez R. Gordon, 20 – were arrested in 2015. Both have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder.
Ramos was fatally shot Dec. 11, 2015, in front of co-workers after their shift ended at Teleperformance on Wylds Road. According to statements at earlier court hearings, witnesses described two men chasing Ramos down as he tried to flee. One of the men shot Ramos in the back and the assailants went through his pockets, taking money before returning to a getaway vehicle, which deputies have said they think Yarbary was driving.
In December, the sheriff’s office reached out to the public, asking for information about a gold nugget-style man’s ring that might have been stolen from Ramos during the attack.
