Hwy 25 crash in Burke County forcing traffic to be diverted

A crash on Highway 25 South at Winter Road in Burke County has temporarily forced traffic to be diverted.

A tractor trailer traveling on Hwy 25 topped a hill and collided with the rear of a Ford Expedition that was traveling at a low rate of speed, according to a Burke County Sheriff’s Office release. The collision caused the Ford Expedition to leave the roadway, roll over and eject two persons from the vehicle. One man, two women and two children have been transported to Medical College of Georgia hospital with serious injuries, according to the release.

Traffic is being diverted through Winter Road.

The Georgia State Patrol and Department of Public Safety Motor Carrier Compliance Division has been called in to assist the Burke County Traffic Division.
