The former wife of a Thomson man fatally shot in 2012 has been charged with murder in his death.
Kaye Ivie Willoughby, 61, was arrested in Monroe, Ga., on Tuesday in the Nov. 11, 2012 homicide of Ronald Alton Willoughby, who was 62 when he was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office, along with Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents, arrested Willoughby, according to a news release from the GBI.
The case was presented earlier Tuesday to a McDuffie County grand jury, which indicted Willoughby. A murder warrant was signed by Superior Court Judge Britt Hammond.
Willoughby has been transferred from Walton County Detention Center to the McDuffie County Detention Center.
