The “why” mattered as much as the “what” during a recent Savannah River Nuclear Solutions leadership conference in Aiken under the banner “Powered by a Purpose.”
More than 180 SRNS executives, senior leaders, and members of the Aspiring Mid-Career Professionals, or AMP, gathered for the fourth annual SRNS Leadercast at Cedar Creek Church in Aiken.
The leadership event was broadcast from Atlanta to hundreds of locations around the globe. The professional development AMP group is open to SRNS employees who have between seven and 20 years of work experience. AMP organized the local viewing.
“This year’s Leadercast was about more than watching dynamic and inspiring speakers in a comfortable environment,” said Scott Pardue, SRNS AMP President. “Those in attendance were able to learn, engage in discussions, gain the perspectives of senior leaders, network with other attendees and recognize the difference between leading with a plan and leading with a purpose.”
Speakers for the broadcast included director and actor Tyler Perry, founder of StoryBrand Donald Miller, and author and television commentator Suzy Welch. According to the release, Leadercast is the largest one-day leadership event in the world and brings together some of the most recognized and respected global leaders.
“Our vision in planning this event was to fulfill the number one request that AMP members make over and over in our surveys,” Pardue said. “Opportunities to meet face-to-face with executives and other senior leaders, combined with unique peer networking in a more relaxed setting, have consistently been among our AMP members’ top goals for the events.”
