Suspect in homicide turns himself in to police

One of the suspects in a homicide earlier this month turned himself in to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

Mark Neal Crawford Jr., 25, surrendered to police at 8:50 a.m., according to a news release.

Crawford was wanted along with Thomas Andrew Blount, 26, in the death of Brandon Theodore Mulgrave, 23, on April 9. The victim was from Hempstead, N.Y., and was found in a vacant lot in the 1200 block of Holden Street.

Mulgrave was found with at least one gunshot wound, County Coroner Mark Bowen said Thursday.Anyone with information on the case can contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1020 or 821-1080.

This marked the fourth homicide in Richmond County this year.
