Lighthouse Care Center staffer charged with sexual assault against person in custody

A staff member of a children’s treatment center is in jail without bond on charges of sexual assault against a person in custody and sodomy.

Jacey M. Haskell, 23, of Hephzibah is scheduled for a bond hearing Friday in Richmond County Superior Court. He has been in custody since April 15, although the complaint by the risk manager director of the Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta was lodged with the sheriff’s department on Feb. 9.

Ashley Young told officers that a juvenile girl said she had a sexual encounter with Haskell while the other girls in his charge were asleep on Feb. 7. Haskell was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta provides acute residential treatment for children experiencing psychological difficulties or substance abuse, according to its website.

Deputy Wesley Youngblood described in his report what video footage showed of the encounter between Haskell and the juvenile on Feb. 7, that it appeared the juvenile performed oral sex on Haskell.

The bigger question is why is a male in charge of juvenile females.  The management is just a guilty as the man and he should be neutered!

Sounds like ARC government is in charge of this place.

it should be mandatory that any place that has these problems let every potential new patient parents be advised of this---why was a 23 year old over a bunch of girls---he obviously wasn't qualified to do this type of caregiver.....
