Victim, suspects identified in Richmond County homicide

The victim of an April 9 homicide was identified Thursday by the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

Brandon Theodore Mulgrave, 23, from Hempstead, N.Y., was found in a vacant lot earlier this month in the 1200 block of Holden Street. The homicide investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Mulgrave was found with at least one gunshot wound, County Coroner Mark Bowen said Thursday.

Also Thursday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office identified two suspects in the case.

Thomas Andrew Blount, 26, and Mark Neal Crawford Jr., 25, have outstanding warrants for murder.

Blount turned himself in on Thursday night and was arrested, but authorities are still searching for Crawford.

Anyone with information on the case can contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1020 or 821-1080.

This marked the fourth homicide in Richmond County this year.
