The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office needs help find two missing persons.
The sheriff’s office is assisting the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in a missing persons case for Julian Marki Williams, 23.
Williams was last seen on the 700 block of Broad Street on March 26. He was waiting on a cab, possibly to go to Beech Island to meet a woman.
Williams suffered a brain injury in November 2011 when he was shot. The lost of oxygen to his brain after he was wounded caused severe memory loss. His parents called the sheriff office when they were unable to reach him by phone after receiving a disturbing call, according to an incident report.
The caller told Williams parents that he kidnapped their son. The caller said he beat Williams up and told him to walk home.
In another case, Robert Smith, 53, has been missing from his Birch Street home in New Ellenton for a week. His sister contacted police April 7 when she found he was not at his home. He was last seen the previous day when a relative went to the home to feed him.
Smith has dementia and wandered off in the past. His family believes he may be trying to get to his former home in Batesburg, S.C. He does not have access to a vehicle and could be traveling on foot.
He was last seen wearing a red and green long-sleeve button up shirt, black pants, black tennis shoes and a black ball cap. He has a permanent knot on his forehead.
Anyone with information on Smith can contact Investigator Shannon Sturgill at (803) 642-1762.
