Firefighter dies in blaze ruled arson
WAYCROSS, GA. — A firefighter has died fighting a blaze in a vacant home in Waycross.
Spokesman for Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Glen Allen, says firefighters responded to the fire shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Allen says the home had been vacant for a long time and didn’t have electricity or utilities hooked up. The fire was ruled an arson.
Allen says that during the blaze, 50-year-old Waycross Fire Department Lt. Jeff Little became trapped and died.
