North Augusta postpones Christmas tree lighting

The North Augusta Christmas Tree Lighting Festival scheduled for today has been postponed due to the weather.

It will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Calhoun Park and at Lookaway Inn.

The tree lighting will take place about 6 p.m. in Calhoun Park after remarks from Mayor Lark Jones.

The event will also feature a variety of activities including entertainment, art displays, chili cook-off, a Bouncy Box, and a special appearance by Santa.

Vendors will be present with popcorn, hot cocoa and marshmallow roasting.
