Mashell Fashion has been appointed interim director for the East Central Georgia Regional Library System by the system’s board of trustees, according to a release.
Fashion’s library career spans 27 years. Before being appointed interim director, she served for five years as the region’s assistant director. She has held several positions within the East Central Georgia Regional Library System, including young adult reference librarian, branch manager at Maxwell Branch Library and facilities manager at the headquarters library. She has also worked as a librarian specialist at the Augusta Technical College Library.
Fashion replaces Teresa Cole, who resigned March 2 and served as the director of the library system for less than a year.
Fashion received her master of library science degree from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. and her bachelor of science degree in education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, S.C.
