Struggling woman hoping for help

A struggling Augusta woman who lost a young daughter this year is hoping for help this holiday.

“This has been a really hard year,” she writes. “I lost my daughter and my youngest son got sickle cell disease. I have a lot of unexpected expenses and we have had to spend a lot of time this year in the hospital.

“I would just like to get my boys one thing they really want. They have helped me get through the worst days and I will appreciate any help I can receive.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
