A McDuffie County mother of two children whose father was slain last year hopes to provide a Christmas for the youngsters.

“I am struggling to make ends meet,” she writes, “and behind on many bills.

“I really would like for my kids to have a great Christmas this year. They are very good and doing great in school and I would love to reward them.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
