Meteorologists confirmed at least one tornado in the Augusta area during storms that hit Georgia and South Carolina on Wednesday evening.

The tornado over Savannah River Site took down trees and power lines, according to Steve Naglic, a warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service. He said experts also have a photograph of a possible tornado in Hephzibah but have not yet confirmed it.

Two mobile homes near Jackson were destroyed after a 90 mph wind hit them.
