Deputies are searching for the gunman who shot a Burger King manager in the hand this morning during a struggle for her purse.
The woman was returning to the restaurant on the 3000 block of Washington Road from a work-related errand around 11 a.m. when she was approached by the robber.
Investigators describe the robber as a black man in his early 20s with a full beard and a low haircut. He stands around 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs around 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing blue jean shorts, a white T-shirt and a blue or black baseball cap during the robbery.
Investigators are also searching for a suspicious orange or tan vehicle, similar to an Oldsmobile Cutlass, which was seen in the area around the time of the robbery and could be related to the crime.
The manager was taken to a local hospital for the injury to her right hand.
