Suspect sought in Burger King robbery

  • Follow News

Deputies are searching for the gunman who shot a Burger King manager in the hand this morning during a struggle for her purse.

The woman was returning to the restaurant on the 3000 block of Washington Road from a work-related errand around 11 a.m. when she was approached by the robber.

Investigators describe the robber as a black man in his early 20s with a full beard and a low haircut. He stands around 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs around 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing blue jean shorts, a white T-shirt and a blue or black baseball cap during the robbery.

Investigators are also searching for a suspicious orange or tan vehicle, similar to an Oldsmobile Cutlass, which was seen in the area around the time of the robbery and could be related to the crime.

The manager was taken to a local hospital for the injury to her right hand.

nice one dashiel!! lol

nice one dashiel!! lol Hopefully the k-9's can track this waste of flesh down, and oops I couldn't hold the leash... go ahead and let the dog put this loser down. People cant go to work even in the morning and make an honest living because of this scum. A lot of times there are a bunch of people hanging around that area for a couple hours with just drinks in their hand most coming from that apartment complex behind the shooting range down that road by Reinhardt's. More than likely this punk was one of them... look over there, it seems as if this large group of people sit over there and stake stuff out looking for a chance to do that. Right after I started noticing these loiterers the checkers was hit after hours. Between that complex and those motels, its scum city right in there. Can I get a dollar, you gots some change, got a cigarette... no but I have a gun or will run your butt over, get away from my car!!! I try not to go over there, especially not get out but they will try to get to you in the drive thru's!!

He did NOT rob the manager.

He did NOT rob the manager. He was only getting a jump start on his redistributed wealth. The manager had money and he had none. It just isn't fair. Actually, the "robber" saved the taxpayers some money as he eliminated the need for a tax collector to act as the middle man in the transaction.

In reply to Baron (2:02) and

In reply to Baron (2:02) and TakeAstand (immediately afterwards), from the 2009 Darwin Awards, this is the winner of 3rd place:
________________________________

After stepping around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door, a man walked into H&J Leather & Firearms intent on robbing the store. The shop was full of customers and a uniformed officer was standing at the counter. Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up and fired a few wild shots from a target pistol.

The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, and several customers also drew their guns and fired. The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 spent cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from seven different weapons. No one else was hurt.

Orange or tan vehicle?

Orange or tan vehicle? Orange looks like tan? Ok, maybe like 'tan-in-a-can', but otherwise no resemblance...

Sounds like the Cutlas the drug dealer drives running the store at the woodlake childrens park. Surely hope it wasn't him, he has sooo many customers that depend on him. I wonder why the police don't stop these cutlasses, decked out in thousands of dollars in paint, rims, stereo etc, and driving around section 8 areas? A friendly safety stop may be just what they need.

Now disssman my friend, you

Now disssman my friend, you know we can't be having no profiling. Those section 8 people are good law abiding citizens, and worked hard to earn that stuff, every single one of them. Their neighborhoods are war zones because hardworking taxpaying citizens won't stay their butts out. Ok, sarcasm over, but really, does the guy have a low haircut and fit the description? Maybe an anonymous tip should be called in even if he dont. Those fools loan their cars to people and commit crimes outside of their area just for that purpose. But being as to what and when they robbed, I think the stakeout man was still someone in that complex or the motel nearby or knew someone there and had been hanging with them. He just got the vehicle or the perp that actually did it from somewhere else.

There are crime problems all

There are crime problems all over the world. It doesn't matter where you go, you're going to have crime. Every time taxes are cut- that's less money going to different departments within the government. Tax cuts aren't always the answer, sometimes keeping track of what the tax money is going for... would help more!

The 2% cut to the Sheriff

The 2% cut to the Sheriff Dept here, the 3.5% cut there a few years later, the "hiring freezes" here the no more raises for deputies there................You get the picture. Now its coming back to bite the county in the butt.

How much more "gutting" are you going to slice and dice the Sheriff Dept. Cant hire qualified applicants and cant attract new ones.

Good luck Richmond county citizens and business. Buy your guns and God Speed seems to be attitude around here....
