Georgia State Rep. Henry “Wayne” Howard, D-Augusta, and family members will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for their The Parade of Quartets television show. The show, which has aired every Sunday morning since the 1950s, is the longest-running television show in the state of Georgia. Howard is currently a co-host on the show.
The Friends of the Jessye Norman School of the Arts presented a check for $7,000 to the school’s board of directors June 11. The donation is a result of the proceeds received during the Purses for a Purpose auction fundraiser, held March 14.
Patrick Williams graduated from Villanova University with a master’s degree in business.
Mary Grace Wynn, of Augusta, graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville with a bachelor of fine arts. She was also a university research scholar.
