Judge takes action in Marshall Square case

A Superior Court judge has appointed attorney Freddie Sanders as receiver over property involved in the Marshall Square Retirement Resort, as well as granting other motions from attorneys representing residents displaced when the facility burned last June.

Judge Carl Brown took the action this morning in open court.

Last week Augusta attorneys John B. Long and Harry Revell, who represent former Marshall Square residents Charles and Margaret Moye and Rhetta Cadle in separate lawsuits against the retirement community sought an injunction to halt any further transfer of residents’ property, which they contend was taken from damaged apartments and disposed of illegally after the fire.
