Jackson man, 19, dies from May 19 injuries

A 19-year-old Silver Bluff High School student injured in a May 19 car crash has died.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Tyler Cunningham, of Jackson, died from his injuries Wednesday at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

According to a statement released by the coroner, Cunningham was the driver of 1994 Ford pickup involved in a three-vehicle crash on Old Jackson Highway and Silver Bluff Road.

Cunningham was not at fault in the accident, the coroner said, but he was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle after it overturned.

His 13-year-old sister, who was also in the car, was not seriously injured.

Other details of the crash are pending a report from South Carolina Highway Patrol, the coroner said.
