Rants & Raves

Today's photo was sent in by seenitB4. She said this looks like Southern Bell on Greene St where she spent many hours using the old cord board in the 60s and 70s before moving on to the central office. Send me a photo if you want to see it here. sean.moores@augustachronicle.com - Sean

A RANT IS IN ORDER for a host on ‘The Five’ Show Jan. 27 who was scolding Sheriff Joe Arpaio for putting several inmates on bread and water for desecrating the American Flag by burning and stomping on it. The host thought it was ridiculous and he shouldn’t do that. The host was yelling and screaming about it. Well, host, our president man is doing the same thing to all Americans, yet you praise and dream about him for the way he is doing the Americans. He is raising the prices on everything so that they can’t even buy bread and water or even his oh-so-famous Affordable Care Act. What Sheriff Joe Arpaio showed me is that he believes in America and our Red-White-Blue Stripes & Stars. I think they got a good lesson and to me all of those that desecrate our flag needs an education on what America means to Americans.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, if you are thinking of letting GRU build your hospital, remember they do not keep their word. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

DOES ANYONE KNOW what they are building near the Candlewood Crossing Subdivision off Old Evans Road? Hopefully it is not low-income housing or apartments. That’s what it looks like.

WASHINGTON D.C. needs to get off its duff and pass the Farm Bill.

ONCE A BADGE HAS been tarnished, there is no way to shine it again.

BRAD USRY, I can’t believe you would side up with Azziz. The people of Augusta have supported you and your eating establishment.

IF YOU LOVE AUGUSTA and want Augusta to prosper, vote against Gov. Deal; he is not interested in Augusta. If we get a new governor, maybe he will run Azziz out of town.

I SEE OBAMA IS threatening to use executive orders to bypass Congress and get what he wants. I think it is time for impeachment.
