Free classes offered to Cherry Tree Crossing, 15th Street residents

A second session of free counseling and education classes for residents who will be displaced by the 15th Street widening project or the demolition of Cherry Tree Crossing begins Tuesday.

Shiloh Comprehensive Community Center is offering the classes to help residents transition to new jobs. The classes will teach interview skills, techniques for maintaining employment, building a resume and other skills. Computers will be available to search for employment and housing.

Individuals should sign up in advance by visiting Shiloh, 1635 15th Street, or e-mailing executive director Elizabeth Jones at If needed, sign up will be held on the first day of class.

Classes will be held 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays this month. Free child care is available.
