Salvation Army accepting applications for Christmas assistance

The Salvation Army is accepting applications for Christmas assistance through Friday.

 

The organization helps provide Christmas gifts for 12 and younger. Assistance will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants can request assistance at the First Stop Center, 1765 Broad St., from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

Applicants should bring children’s clothing and shoe sizes and limit gift requests to $40 per item. They should not bring children when applying.

The following documents are needed to apply: photo ID for all adults in the household; birth certificates for all children in the household; proof of income including food stamps; proof of expenses or bills; proof of current address; and legal custody papers for children who are not applicants’ birth children.
