Fort Gordon today will kick off its annual four-day Spring Fest, held in conjunction this year with a celebration in honor of the Month of the Military Child.
Spring Fest 2013 will take place through Sunday at Barton Field, beginning at 4 p.m. today with a carnival, displays and music.
On Saturday, the Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation and the Fort Gordon Spouses and Civilians Club will hold the Spring Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fort Gordon’s Better Opportunities for Single Service Members Program will have a car, truck and bike show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Barnes Avenue and Rice Road.
Also on Saturday, Child, Youth and School Services will hold the Month of the Military Child Celebration. The opening ceremony is at 9:45 a.m. at the Barton Field Outdoor Theater. There will be a children’s carnival, a child identification kits booth and military police dog demonstrations.
