A Hephzibah woman died Saturday afternoon after losing control of her motorcycle and crashing into a concrete wall.
According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, Sherry A. Tipton, 39, of the 2900 block of Lander Court, was driving her 2007 Suzuki GSXR 1300 west on John C. Calhoun Expressway when she failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into the concrete divide.
Tipton was thrown 198 feet and the motorcycle was thrown 366 feet. Officers determined she had been driving too fast for conditions. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:20 p.m.
