INSTEAD OF relentlessly trying to ban religious symbols from the public realm, why don’t atheists create their own logo, chants and dioramas and seek to be included? Perhaps a red circle and slash across Charlton Heston’s face? A scientist cradling a globe in swaddling clothes to the tune of John Lennon’s Imagine?
I AGREE WITH OBAMA 100 percent. We can end this budget stalemate rather quickly. All he has to do is to drop his inane and indefensible requirement of increasing the taxes on those who already pay almost 50 percent of America’s income tax bill. We do not have a revenue problem; we have a spending problem. Here are a few suggestions for bringing our budget under control: stop providing tax money to illegals; stop providing tax money to people who will not work; stop wasting money at the federal level; eliminate or drastically reduce his shadow, non-elected government: 37 czars, really?
IF WE GO OVER the fiscal cliff, it will be because Obama pushed us.
LAYOFFS AT MCG at the same time they are hiring in Athens – $20 million to MCG; $50 million to Athens? Within 10 years MCG will be relocated to Athens and we will only have the Allied Health Schools. Contact Gov. Deal. He doesn’t care about Augusta because we are majority Democrat, but if we all vote for the Democratic candidate next gubernatorial election, it may be enough to stop him from winning. He may care about that. Save MCG in Augusta!
AFTER I READ Jeff Miller’s letter to the editor, I prayed for him. I feel sorry for you, Mr. Miller, and I hope that God will show you your ways.
I WOULD LIKE TO suggest instead of tacking Augusta to the end of name of the new school it could be Augusta Georgia Regents University.
SECESSION? REALLY? I fully and wholeheartedly support the efforts of anyone who wishes to leave these United States. Please, oh please, pack up and go. Just remember, as long as Americans live here, you can’t have this country.
DEAR REPUBLICANS: It gets better losing, gets easier every time.
RAVES TO THE Waffle House folks at I-20 and Belair. They found my wallet and kept it safe and secure for me. Not only a good place to eat, but honest people there.
