An Augusta man whose wife is recovering from cancer surgery and treatment is hoping for some help this holiday.
“It has been a difficult time,” he writes, “but we, by God’s blessings, have received assistance from various organizations, family and friends. My wife and I continue to maintain a loving environment for our children, which is why we’d like to provide them with the joy of Christmas that all children look forward to. Just one toy under the tree will make the difference.”
The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
