Local Girl Scout accepts Presidential Medal of Freedom

A local Girl Scout accepted the Presidential Medal of Freedom award on behalf of the organization’s founder on Tuesday.

Georgie Ekechukwu traveled to The White House where President Obama posthumously awarded the highest civilian honor to Juliette Gordon Low. Low founded the Girl Scouts in 1912 in Savannah, Ga.

Ekechukwu attended the ceremony with Girl Scouts CEO Anna Maria Chávez.
