Brigadier general at Fort Gordon selected for promotion


Brig. Gen. LaWarren V. Patterson, the commanding general of the 7th Signal Command (Theater) at Fort Gordon, was selected for promotion recently to major general by the U.S. Senate.

Patterson, a native of Portsmouth, Va., received his commission as a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps in 1982. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mass communications from Norfolk State University, a master of science degree in general administration from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.

“Brig. Gen. Patterson’s selection for promotion to major general is a recognition by the Army leadership of not only his outstanding performance of duty, but also his potential to serve in even more challenging assignments,” said Maj. Gen. Jennifer L. Napper, the commanding general of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command.
