Officers arrested a Hephzibah man Friday afternoon who fled twice from Richmond County deputies.
About 1:27 p.m., Jamal Courdiero Wright, 25, was pulled over for a routine traffic stop on the corner of James Drive and Patrick Avenue, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
While a deputy waited for backup, Wright left the vehicle and fled into a wooded area near Quail Court.
Deputies then contacted Jason Smith, owner of the vehicle, who drove his vehicle to his residence without permission from a deputy, the report said.
When deputies tracked down the vehicle, they found out Wright was hiding inside Smith’s home. Once officers arrived at 3915 James Drive, Wright again fled towards the wooded area where he was eventually apprehended, according to the report.
Wright was cited for driving with a suspended license, obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.
