Two people are dead and another two injured following a crash on Highway 221 in McDuffie County on Friday, police say.
About 1 p.m., Georgia State Patrol and McDuffie County Emergency Services crews were called to a two-vehicle wreck in south McDuffie County.
According to Ritchie Howard, the Grovetown post commander for the Georgia State Patrol, a small passenger vehicle was traveling north on Highway 221 when it left the roadway, over-corrected and ran head-on into a tractor trailer.
Two adult passengers, who have not been identified, were killed in the collision. A 1-year-old child was airlifted to Georgia Regents Medical Center with a head injury, and the driver of the tractor trailer was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
