Teachers can get a helping hand Tuesday when Kroger gives away $20,000 in classroom supplies.
The store’s Atlanta division is giving away the supplies as part of this year’s “Back to School.”
Teachers with a valid Georgia teacher ID can receive up to $40 in supplies that include copy paper, construction paper, markers, tape, disinfectant wipes, sandwich bags and other items.
“Each year an increasing number of teachers use their paycheck to purchase classroom supplies,” said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for the Atlanta division. “We hope through this event we can help assist teachers prepare for the upcoming year.”
Supplies will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last, at Westside Comprehensive High School, 1002 Patriots Way.
