MOX contractor donates more than $57,000 to Aiken nonprofit

The contractor for the mixed-oxide fuel fabrication facility at Savannah River Site raised more than $57,000 for a nonprofit child care organization in Aiken, according to a news release.

Shaw Areva MOX Services donated the money to Children’s Place Inc., which provides social services for at-risk children and families. The company raised it by holding events, including a golf tournament and celebrity waiter night.

The contribution was the largest single donation ever raised by the company.
