Hephzibah store sells lottery winner



A Hephzibah store sold one of many winning tickets in Wednesday’s $425 million Powerball drawing, according to a news release.

A ticket worth $10,000 was sold at McTeer Food Mart, 4150 Windsor Spring Road. Stores in Albany and Macon also had $10,000 wins.

The name of the local winner has not been released.

Stores in Atlanta and Macon sold tickets winning $1 million. More than 77,000 Georgia players won prizes between $4 and $300. Five more took home winnings in the thousands to millions.

The lone winning ticket for the Powerball jackpot was sold at a Northern California convenience store. The winning numbers were 1, 17, 35, 49, 54 and a Powerball of 34.
