Elementary and middle school teachers in seven area counties are invited to apply for grants for science, math and technology lessons.
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is offering $500, $750 and $1,000 grants to teachers in Richmond and Columbia counties and Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell and Edgefield counties in South Carolina. The deadline for applications is March 3.
The Innovative Teaching Mini-Grants Program “encourages teachers to seek out creative and innovative methods and teaching tools,” according to a news release. The grants are funded by the parent companies of SRNS: Fluor Federal Services, Newport News Nuclear and Honeywell.
