Gov. Deal, wife to visit Augusta

ATLANTA — Gov. Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal will come to Augusta on Saturday, his office announced Thursday.

They will visit the Master’s Table Soup Kitchen, 702 Fenwick St., at 10:30 a.m. They also plan to visit the Dwight Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Deal was elected governor in 2010 and is seeking re-election next year.

A native of Millen, he grew up in Sandersville and was a successful lawyer and judge in Gainesville. He also served in the Georgia Legislature and U.S. Congress.
