Veterans Day discounts available

VETERANS APPRECIATED

With Veterans Day on Monday, area businesses will be saluting veterans and active-duty military with freebies and discounts.

Free haircuts, discounted merchandise and complimentary meals at restaurants are among the offers announced.

Most businesses require proof of military service, which can include a Veterans Affairs Universal Access Card, Military I.D., discharge papers, Veterans Service Organization Card or a person in uniform.

Not all franchises contribute to their national chain’s Veterans Day programs, so contacting establishments to make sure they are participating is recommended.

Unless otherwise noted, all offers are good only on Veterans Day.
