A two-car wreck at the intersection of Peach Orchard and Boykin roads Saturday sent six people to Georgia Regents Medical Center, including an 8-year-old child, whose injuries authorities described as “serious.”
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said charges are pending in the crash, which happened about 8:40 p.m., when a 2002 Hyundia Elantra made a left turn and struck the passenger side of a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer.
Deputies said the Mountaineer, driven by a 17-year-old woman, did not have its headlights on.
The Elantra had three passengers, while the Mountaineer had three passengers, one of which was the 8-year-old, according to an incident report.
No information was released on the other victims, except that their injuries were not life-threatening.
