Two pedestrians who were hit by vehicles in separate incidents have died.
Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said both pedestrians were at fault in the accidents.
Nelson Norris, 38, of Thomson, died after being hit by a 2007 Honda CR-V as he tried to cross in the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road about 7:10 a.m. Thursday.
Norris was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he died from his injuries at 11:30 a.m.
The day before, Andrew Ellingwood, 51, died nearly three months after he was hit by a pickup.
According to Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, Ellingwood was injured Sept. 21 when he stepped into the path of a 1990 Chevrolet 1500 pickup while crossing Meadowbrook Drive at Deans Bridge Road.
Ellingwood was treated at Medical College of Georgia Hospital and then taken to a nursing facility, where he died from of his injuries Wednesday, Bowen said.
